Isabel Anders has recently written a new inspirational calendar, Seasons for the Soul: 366 Days to Let the Light of God Shine Through, for 2008, illustrated with paintings by artist Joy Waldman (Tide-Mark Press, 2007 release). She has authored 17 books for adults, children, and young adults. Her first book was Awaiting the Child: An Advent Journal, with an Introduction by Madeleine L’Engle. L’Engle also endorsed Soul Moments: Times When Heaven Touches Earth, calling it “A beautiful, encouraging, hopeful book.” |

Isabel’s children’s picture books for Concordia Publishing include The Real Night Before Christmas and Easter ABCs. Her compilation, The Wisdom of Little Women, has been featured regularly at the Orchard House Museum bookstore in Concord, Massachusets, home of Louisa May Alcott.In addition to Isabel’s prayer collection Simple Blessings for Sacred Moments, she has also compiled and co-narrated two devotional CDs with H. King Oehmig, with piano accompaniment by Brian McLeod: Soul Openings and Soul Openings II available online at Soul Openings. A graduate in English from Wheaton College, with the M. A. in Religious Studies from Mundelein College, Chicago, Isabel has been a writer and editor in publishing circles for more than thirty years. Isabel received an Ohio Arts Council fellowship in Creative Writing (1989); and she has been included in Who’s Who in Religion and the International Who’s Who of Professional & Business Women. She is currently Managing Editor and a contributing writer for the internationally distributed Synthesis Publications, Biblical resources in the Anglican tradition (used here, for example) available at www.Synthesispub.com. Isabel is a Contributing Editor to the new study guide, Understanding the Sunday Scriptures, A Companion to the Revised Common Lectionary. She lives with her family in middle Tennessee. |
